YOU OWN FOUR RUNNERS IN THREE DAYS

Mar 10, 2023

How good!

On top of Cool Jakey’s spectacular win yesterday at Newcastle, TRL owners have 4 runners in 3 days starting with Bellinger on Saturday and concluding with Team Captain in the Adelaide Cup on Monday.

We trust that the remarkable record of 27 winners from 16 runners at a strike rate of 24%, is set to improve over the next 3 days.

TRL UPCOMING RUNNERS :

Bellinger: March 11 – Morphettville

Hot Spring Gold: March 11 – Eagle Farm

Lethal Thoughts: March 11 – Flemington

Team Captain: March 13 Team Captain

Good luck to all owners now let’s check out the major chances for your TRL Trainers this Saturday.

BELLINGER TO MORPHETTVILLE

Bellinger is ready to go back to back at Morphettville on Saturday according to trainer Ben Hayes.

“He’s had a nice freshen-up since his last run, he looks bright in the coat and his trackwork has been good,” trainer Ben Hayes said.

Bellinger is the second favourite and will just need that ounce of luck in the straight to unleash his powerful finish.

At Flemington, the Hayes team can get us off to a flying start with Independent Road (Race 1) and Sweetened in Race 2.

BET: Bellinger – Win (Morphettville Race 4)

BET: Independent Road – Each Way (Flemington Race 1)

BET: Sweetened – Each Way (Flemington Race 2)

LETHAL THOUGHTS FANCIED IN RETURN

Lethal Thoughts has been rock solid in the early markets for his return to the track at Flemington in Race 9 on Saturday.

“He has come back extremely well, yes he was nominated for Wangaratta last week but we just thought the 1400m at Flemington was a better starting point for him,” trainer Ciaron Maher said.

Could be a huge day at Flemington for the Maher/Eustace camp with Right You Are (Race 6) who looks extremely hard to beat.

At Rosehill, Steel City who had no luck and should have won the Blue Diamond is surely the horse to beat in Race 4.

BET: Right You Are –  Win (Flemington Race 6)

BET: Lethal Thoughts – Each Way (Flemington Race 9)

BET: Steel City – Each Way (Rosehill Race 4)

MUNCE – THE SPRING IS SET TO BUBBLE

In the fair dinkum department, Hot Spring Gold has never been a first-up horse and the 1200m may be too short for him at Eagle Farm on Saturday, but trainer Chris Munce reports your horse is well and will only get better from here.

Chris’ other runner Brookhaven (Race 8) was a really good second when first-up at the Sunny Coast and can win.

BET: Brookhaven – Each Way (Race 8 Eagle Farm)

GAI & ADRIAN LOOKING FOR MORE BLOOD

Just the one from the Waterhouse/Bott yard for Saturday and you’ll have to be patient with Major Beel in the lucky last Race 10.

He’s won his last two beating the older horses and has done the right thing in the past for us.

Sticking solid.

BET: Major Beel – Each Way (Rosehill Race 10)

MARK NEWNHAM IS MR POPULAR WITH TYCOONS

Mark Newnham’s star continues to skyrocket and he’s done a mighty job with Cool Jakey remaining undefeated for the NSW Tycoons after winning at Newcastle on Thursday.

At Rosehill, Sunshine Rising is ready to win for Mark, he was a great third at Sandown and is now fully fit.

BET: Sunshine Rising – Each Way (Randwick Race 6)

MOODY SET TO DANCE

The Peter Moody stable continues to go from strength to strength.

At Flemington Shuffle Dancer (Race 3) has done the right thing by us in her last two starts and there’s no reason it won’t make it 3 straight.

While in the big one of the day, the Newmarket, I Wish I Win is not fancy odds at $4.50 but it’s closing sectionals were fantastic last start.

Good luck and good punting!

YOU OWN FOUR RUNNERS IN THREE DAYS

Mar 10, 2023

Cool Jakey was the King of Warwick Farm  on Wednesday and NSW Tycoons owners would like to package the Metropolitan track and just take it wherever Cool Jakey goes after he kept his undefeated record intact.

It’s remarkable that ‘Jakey’, trained on track and stabled across the road with Joe Pride, is one of those athletes, albeit of the equine kind, who thrives on his home ground.

He won on debut at Warwick Farm way back in February of 2023 and the love affair hasn’t ended, Cool Jakey has now won 4 from 4 at ‘The Farm’ and there’s plenty more wins in store for your son of Pierro.

BOUNCE BACK FACTOR

As Tycoons were made aware of, there’s a theory in racing that when a horse suffers from cardiac arrhythmia, “you must back it next start” and they win.

And that was certainly the message after Cool Jakey suffered cardiac arrhythmia the previous start at Randwick, with Joe Pride telling Tycoons in the pre-race late mail, “Don’t worry about what happened last start, the horse is fine and he looks great,” how right Joe was with Cool Jakey leading all the way.

HIPPO FROM BARRIER TO BOX

Adam Hyeronimus was having his first sit on Cool Jakey and he rode him a treat. We joked before the race “just go to the front and improve your position” and that’s exactly what he did.

“He jumped well and found a nice rhythm straight away, he had a nice time so I let him slide early into it at the 600metres so we did go a bit early.

“He felt fantastic throughout the run and was doing it easily, so I did get a bit of a surprise how quickly he stopped.

“So maybe I did go too early, but in saying that, maybe seven furlongs is his upper limit. On that effort he’ll be winning again” Jockey Adam Hyeronimus said.

JOE DELIGHTED

“That was good guys” trainer Joe Pride said, with a big smile to a large contingent of NSW Tycoons on Cool Jakey returning to scale.

“Look it was nice to see him win on a track that wasn’t bottomless wet, it opens up a lot more opportunities for him.

“In saying that if there was a 1400m for him in a fortnight on a Good track I would probably be reluctant to start him. We need to nurse him through it and the next month – six weeks isn’t going to be easy because it’s carnival time.

WHATS NEXT – PACK YOUR BAGS

The Tycoons have been very patient with Cool Jakey and their patience has been rewarded. He is building a very nice career record which stands at only 13 starts for 5 wins and a minor placing and is now pushing the $200,000 in prize money.

‘Jakey’ has initially pulled up well, but we all know that he is a delicate soul and has to be treated with kindness and Joe is reluctant to push him too hard too quickly. Which is fair enough.

“We might even consider travelling him maybe to Melbourne or Brisbane for a wet track, we just need to look after him.

“He’s been a good horse for us, we will look after him and his best opportunities will come in the Winter,” Joe concluded.

Congratulations to all NSW Tycoons and winning connections.

Go you good thing!
