JOIN THE QUE – ALRIGHT

April 5, 2026

Talk about getting the Easter chocolates!

The Bunny arrived in spades for the Vic Husslers, courtesy of a spectacular victory by Join The Que at Stawell on Sunday.

It wasn’t just that Join The Que won, breaking his Maiden in the process, but it was the authority, or as trainer JD Hayes said, “the arrogance of the victory,” which was so pleasing.

In the end, jockey Dean Yendall eased him down on the post to win by 7.5 lengths.

The win also vindicates the Hayes’ team, and their belief that Join the Que can gallop and has a bright future for the stable and the Vic Husslers.

A PAINLESS WATCH

It’s all well and good to be a hot odds-on pop, but you still have to get the job done, and as trainer JD Hayes explains, the stable took great satisfaction from a painless watch.

“It was terrific to see him win with such authority.

“That was one of the easier watches I’ve seen in years, the way he won, so arrogantly. “Particularly when the jockey (Dean Yendall) said he could have won by further.

“It was a great way to break a Maiden in style, and hopefully now we can build a bit of a picket fence.”JD Hayes said.

COMMENTATOR LOVED IT

The better a horse performs, the better the name is, but commentators are already having some fun with Join The Que.

The Vic Husslers galloper originally opened up around the $2.35 quote, but punters quickly seized the opportunity, and he started $1.30.

With the commentator spruiking.

“Join The Que just like punters did, they joined the queue, go and get in the queue, it’s collect time.”

And it was much to the delight of the Vic Husslers who now bounce to an early lead in the race for the Big Cash for Month 5 of TRL.

CHECK THAT TIME

Times aren’t everything, but it’s worth noting that not only was Join The Que super impressive to the eye, but also for those who love their data.

Yes, it was only a small field, but that also meant they didn’t go hard early, with Join The Que stopping the clock at 1.18.31, which was 2.52 lengths better than standard for track/condition and distance.

YENDALL – HE’LL IMPROVE

The win was also one of the easiest jockey Dean Yendall had experienced for a long time.

But most importantly, Join The Que still shied at the inside running rail and also the winning post, so he is still learning.

“Great win, bounced the gates really cleanly, so we sat outside the leader for a few strides, travelling really well just came off the leaders back at the 400.

“He actually really sprinted up quickly and put pay to them with so much ease, I just sat up on him the last 50.

“He did have a bit of a look at the winning post, he’ll come on off that run, with a world of confidence.” Yendall said.

WHAT’S NEXT

Nice to hear from trainer Ben Hayes that Join The Que has pulled up well.

“Pleased to report, he has come through his great win in such good order.

“Nice to see him get a bit of confidence and win by such a big margin,” Ben said.

There are a couple of options, but most likely he’ll head to Sale on Sunday, April 19, a Benchmark 62 over 1400m, and in the opinion of trainer Ben Hayes, with some luck, “Can keep the momentum going.”

“It will be right up his alley. We will look to head in that direction with him on the 19th at Sale,” Hayes said.

Now they have joined the queue the Vic Husslers are keen to stay in it.

Go, Husslers, and go you good thing!
