There were hysterical scenes around the country on Saturday when Brisbane galloper Rothfire raced his way into serious contention for the $15million Tab Everest.
The horse they call the “Thriller From Chinchilla” will fill the miEverest slot in the richest race on turf on October 17 at Royal Randwick, in a move which now appears to be a masterstroke.
Rothfire, stunned a star studded field in the Run To The Rose, scorching the turf in a race record time and sparking mass celebrations for the thousands of miEverest micro-slot holders who now own their slice of a ‘live chance” in the big race.
miEverest owners even got a special mention from Rothifre’s trainer Rob Heathcote after the race thanking them for their support and to look forward to the ride of their life come October 17 at Royal Randwick.
