MISS TRUSTFUL RUNAWAY WIN

Now that was some sort of way to end a Friday, and an even better way to start your weekend. The Vic Husslers cheered themselves hoarse after a daring tactical ride by Thomas Stockdale on Miss Trustful paid off big time at Geelong.

Your Stakes placed mare didn’t sneak home; she belted her rivals, winning by close enough to three lengths. This was her third career win, and two of them have come on Heavy tracks. In the end, Miss Trustful enjoyed every moment of it, as did the Vic Husslers on course and watching throughout the land.

TACTICAL GENIUS

Hats, helmets, and fascinators off to jockey Thomas Stockdale, what a brilliant ride. Miss Trustful drew well, which is always a bonus except on a day like Friday at Geelong. Stockdale is building a nice relationship with Miss Trustful, that’s two wins from three rides on Miss T. .

“Great run, guys, congratulations.

“She began well from the gates, and I was able to slot in really nicely, with a bit of cover, and she switched off really nicely.

“The ground is Heavy, the inside is quite inferior, so that’s why I thought I needed to get to the outside.

“Not only that, once I started to come out, I had to keep going out to the outside fence to find the better going.

“She really enjoyed it out there, it was a good gallop, and that’s now my second win on her and they have both been on Heavy tracks. She is going really well, and in for a good prep.” The man of the moment, Thomas Stockdale, said.

NIKKI WHITE – SOFT SPOT

Miss Trustful certainly isn’t the fastest or best credentialed horse in the Ciaron Maher yard, but Assistant Trainer Nikki White, who’s based at Ballarat, has always had a soft spot for your genuine mare.

Nikki was thrilled for the horse and the Vic Husslers.

“Well, Hussler, congratulations, that was a well-timed and executed ride by Tom on Miss Trustful.

“I was pretty confident she would improve off that run on the synthetic at Ballarat. She had a big blow and there was plenty of improvement to come, which she showed today.

“We actually kept her slightly on the fresher side, which I was slightly concerned about jumping up to the 1700m, and all her guts got her over the line today.

“That was an absolutely outstanding effort.

“I’m wrapped for you guys, I’m wrapped for the horse, as we know she is as honest as they come and really good to see her back in the winners' stall.

WHAT’S NEXT.

The good news she has pulled up well after the win, according to Ciaron’s racing manager Josh Kadlec- Cavanagh.

“The preliminary rating for the run has come back at 79.6, consistent with her previous two starts, which rated 79 and 80, indicating she is maintaining her good form.

“We will look to stick to a similar distance, now we know she can get the 1700.Warnambool on the 23rd may come up too quickly, but there’s some nice options over the Mile and another 1700m at Geelong. “ Go Vic Husslers!!
