Cool Jakey has drawn barrier 8, much more favourable than his barrier 13 draw in the Arrowfield. The South Pacific won’t be a stroll for Cool Jakey, but the opposition isn’t as strong on paper, the extra 200 metres looks perfect and the prospect of a Soft surface is also another tick in the box for the Tycoons.
NSW Tycoons’ owners had to be patient with Cool Jakey, he was slow to mature and needed plenty of time in the paddock but that patience is now being rewarded.
He’s had just the three starts for a stunning debut win at Warwick Farm, lead all the way next start at Newcastle and most recently drew the extreme outside barrier before finishing a great third at Randwick over 1400 metres.
Jockey Tyler Schiller who has ridden Cool Jakey to victory twice before stays onboard and is in great form.
