QLD ROGUES TWO WINS IN SEVEN DAYS

October 11, 2025

Wow – what a win!

Huge congratulations to all Qld Rogues, posting two wins in seven days, when Caxton Lass saluted at the Gold Coast on Saturday, on the back of Heman winning at Doomben seven days earlier.

The Maroons are on a roll on the sporting field, the Brisbane Lions winning the AFL flag, the Broncos taking the NRL crown, and now the Qld Rogues finding form on the track.

CAXTON IS SOME LASS

Caxton Lass has never been the most straightforward mare. She gave trainer Rob Heathcote and staff quite a torrid time in the early days. And then there was mental anguish for Rob and the owners because she can gallop, but often underperformed on race day.

Let’s hope that is all in the past, after she “exploded to victory” on Saturday.

“We always knew she was capable of a win like that, and I might even suggest she will be winning more in the not-too-distant future.

“It’s why I didn’t mind her 2nd up run at the Sunshine Coast, which set her up nicely for today’s win.

“I love the enthusiasm of the Rogues, and you have stuck fast, and maybe we have turned the corner with Caxton Lass?

GOD BLESS RONNIE STEWART

In the twinkling of an eye, Caxton Lass went from being a “good thing beaten, to an explosive winner.

Owners heaped praise on veteran jockey Ron Stewart, who was able to extract himself after being trapped behind the leading group with a lap full of horse.

“I was a little concerned when we straightened up whether we would get a run or not.

“But she has that late turn of foot and put paid to them very quickly. A good win considering how badly we got held up.”

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CAXTON

The big question is can Caxton Las go on with it? Your trainer Rob Heathcote, thinks the daughter of Capitalist can. Her career record now reads 19 starts for 2 wins and 6 minor placings.

“She is now a class 2 mare on a rating of 62.

“A close study of the racing schedule suggests the Friday night Sunny Coast BM 65 1200 race on the 24th October could work?

Rob is one of the best communicators in the game, so keep an eye on your owner reports where Rob provides a blow-by-blow update.

Go you good thing and go Rogues!
