STARS COME OUT TO PLAY

Two of the nations most popular gallopers Eduardo and Zaaki return at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

While at Moonee Valley Ben & JD Hayes will saddle up Mr Brightside in the Group 2 Feehan Stakes.

Time to check out the major chances from your trainers this Saturday.

HAYES CAMP LOOKING ON THE BRIGHTSIDE

The mighty Bellinger was due to return for the Vic Husslers on Sunday at Geelong but instead Bendigo on Thursday looks a more likely target.

The Hayes brothers have their star galloper Mr Brightside (Race 4) lining up as a $2 favourite in the Feehan Stakes. He’s a Group 1 winner and was extremely impressive winning first-up.

BET: Mr Brightside – Win (MV Race 4)

GAI ON A MELBOURNE RAID

Racing really doesn’t have any boundaries anymore with trainers regularly floating horses interstate looking for more suitable races.

The Waterhouse/Bott stable have two outstanding chances at the Valley.

Major Beel (Race 1) is $4.40, has Ollie on board, won at Wyong and was a really good third last start.

In The Congo (Race 5) is already a Group 1 Golden Rose winner, was great last preparation starting with a third in the Galaxy.

BET: Major Beel – Each Way (MV Race 1)

BET: In The Congo – Each Way (MV Race 5)

MOODY IN FOR ANOTHER BIG DAY

Peter Moody was the star of the show last Saturday and he has a couple of great chances at the Valley.

Millane (Race 3) is tight in the Sportsbet market at $3.60 but did run the equal fastest last 200m of the day when third in the Vain.

Pounding (Race 9) makes appeal at $8.50 but doesn’t want the track too wet.

BET: Millane – Win (Valley Race 3)

BET: Pounding – Each Way (Valley Race 9)

PRICE IS LOVIN’YA

The Mick Price/Michael Kent yard did the right thing by us last week with Jacquinot winning at good odds.

Let’s stick with the Vic Husslers trainers as I’m Lovin’ya trots out as a $3.30 favourite in Race 6.

This 3yo bay filly was third in the Quezette and the step up to 1200m looks perfect.

BET: I’m Lovin’ya – Win (MV Race 6)

HEATHCOTE ON THE MOVE WITH THE BOOM

Our Qld Rogues trainer Rob Heathcote doesn’t mind a road trip.

Rob is taking Prince of Boom (Race 7) to the Valley and he has drawn terribly in barrier 14 but is a winner of 5 of 9 starts including 3 straight last prep and is good fresh.

At Doomben, Rob’s best is Sir Rocket (Race 8) which is short at $2.90 but is coming off a strong win at Doomben and this doesn’t look much stronger.

BET: Prince of Boom – Each Way (MV Race 7)

BET: Sir Rocket – WIN (Doomben Race 8)

CIARON & EUSTACE HAVE THE SPIRIT

The Maher/Eustace yard report Lethal Thoughts came through his return at Rosehill in good conditions but did know he had a workout. He’ll now head to Melbourne with the Caulfield Guineas Prelude and the Stutt Stakes on the agenda.

At the Valley, Mayfair Spirit at $7.50 looks a nice play after winning well at this course last start.

While at Randwick, Cadre DuNoir (Race 4) is $6.50 he does jump in grade but is down in weight and can win again.

NO HIDING JOE’S PRIDE IN EDUARDO

There’s is no hiding Joe Pride’s favourite horse is Eduardo and why not, he’s beaten the great Nature Strip in a couple of their epic meetings.

Eduardo(Race 5) is a rising 9yo who clearly doesn’t check his birth certificate, he’s a great fresh horse and is coming off two good trials.

Rubinocchi (Race 3) is on the seven day back-up, drops in weight and she is now against own sex.

Stockman (Race 8) is at the big odds of $15 with Sportsbet who caught the eye first-up and the extra 200m will suit, plus a wet track.

BET: Eduardo – Win (Randwick Race 5)

BET: Rubinocchi -Each Way (Randwick Race 3)

BET: Stockman – Each Way (Randwick Race 8)

O’DEA & HOYSTED TO FETCH

The O’Dea/Hoysted stable reports that Helluva Barty has pulled up well from her impressive trial at Doomben on Tuesday…they like this horse which is always good news.

Fetch (Race 3) has won 2 of 3 this prep, has come up with barrier 1 and should box seat and be too strong.

Enterprise Mia (Race 9) is probably too short for my liking at $2, but she’s been great winning her last 3 races.

BET: Fetch – Each Way (Doomben Race 3)

BET: Enterprise Mia – Each Way (Doomben Race 9)

GOLLAN SPEARHEADS A COUP

Tony Gollan has already chalked up 18 winners at a strike rate of 25% in Qld which is a wonderful start to the new season.

He should add to that tally at Doomben with Coup De Tonnerre (Race 5) which is up in distance and if the rain comes will relish the conditions.

Aussie Nuggett (Race 7) is being kept very safe at Sportsbet $3.30. Has been desperately unlucky and will only improve as he gets up in distance.

BET: Coup De Tonnerre – Each Way (Doomben Race 5)

BET: Aussie Nuggett – Win (Doomben Race 7)

Good luck and good punting.
