CALLING ALL EVEREST CONTENDERS

The audition process for the $15 million TABEverest on October 17 continues this Saturday at Royal Randwick with the running of the time honoured Group 2, Shorts over 1100metres.

The elite field is headed by Godolphin’s star sprinter Bivouac, with at least 10 of the 12 runners all with a chance of securing one of the remaining eight Everest slots with an outstanding performance.

Bivouac has been well supported in early betting and remains the favourite. Classique Legend has already secured a start in the Everest and is resuming from a 15 week spell after a cameo performance during the Winter.

While there’s plenty of good judges who believe the Missile Stakes winner Eduardo is worthy of an Everest slot with Team Hawkes providing the polish.

The chances don’t end there, Kiwi sprinter Catalyst, has drawn barrier 1 and has speed to burn while Standout for Gerald Ryan could surprise at enormous value.

Rothfire firmed dramatically in the Everest market after his stunning win last Saturday in the Run To The Rose, whoever wins Saturday’s Shorts will do exactly the same.
