Trainer Pitch: Kelly Schweida

Kelly Schweida has been training for some of his owners for more than forty years! That takes honesty, consistent results and commitment to excellence and Kelly has that in spades.

Kelly was a successful apprentice jockey in Townsville, Northern Queensland, from 1972 to 1978 where he won three apprentice premierships. His future took a turn prematurely when his weight changed following a serious car accident and forced Kelly to end his career as a jockey. Kelly’s training philosophy is to take every horse as it comes. With opportunities, combined with patience and an eye for detail, Kelly continues to work with a hands on approach to get the best out of his horses.

Although Kelly only has a small stable he is constantly in the top ten trainers in QLD and respected by all in the racing industry, and now he wants to train for YOU in the Queensland Rogues team.
