The Vic Husslers are “off and racing” with the purchase of their first ready to run horse named Bellinger from the Lindsay Park stable. Vic Husslers trainer Ben Hayes contacted TRL in early May and said, “if you are still in the market for a tried horse, we train one called Bellinger that is going through the Inglis Digital Sale on May 12.”

Bellinger is an exciting three-year-old gelding which has only had eight starts for one win and a second, amassing $49,000 in prize money. That win came on February 24 this year at the Sandown Hillside course where he won by three lengths carting a hefty 59kgs. After that win he was stretched out to 1600m and 1700m and didn’t cope with the soft tracks and the extra distance.

Being by the champion sire of sprinters Zoustar out of a More Than Ready mare, Bellinger is bred for speed and will be trained as a sprinter by Ben Hayes and his Lindsay Park on his return from a spell.

The Racing League were able to purchase Bellinger from Sun Bloodstock on the Inglis Digital Sale for $99,000 (inc GST) after a nerve-wracking bidding duel. Vic Husslers owners get the outfit ready and brush down the suit, the fun is about to begin!
