RING THAT “BELL” INGER

Dec 13, 2021

By Terry Kennedy

The Vic Husslers are celebrating another victory with Bellinger overcoming severe obstacles to post the most impressive of victories on Friday under lights at Cranbourne.

The race commentator summed it up perfectly at the 800 metre mark  “Bellinger is back in the ruck and in an awkward position” with 400 metres to go Bellinger had been shuffled back to second last “Bellinger is badly held-up”.

But all of a sudden jockey Micky Dee riding for luck received some as the gaps started to appear and Bellinger picked off his rivals one by one to power home for his second win in Vic Hussler colours.

“It’s a big thrill, a ten out of ten ride by Mickey Dee, he had to be patient, the seas parted and Bellinger really hit the line strongly” said co-trainer Ben Hayes.

Bellinger along with Team Captain, the two ready to race horses for the Vic Husslers have now had seven starts for four wins and a placing. That allows the Husslers to narrow the gap on TRL leaders the Qld Rogues with the NSW Tycoons in third place.
