Lethal Thoughts (So You Think x St Remy)
Lethal Thoughts could be something “special” as Bruce McAvaney would say.
This son of champion sire So You Think is the splitting image of his dad and looks like he has a fair share of his ability.
“Lethal” has made a massive impression so far, from his three starts he’s notched a win, a narrow third before graduating to the Group 1 JJ Atkins and despite drawing barrier 18, sitting four wide for the entire journey was only beaten just over a length.
Trainers Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace had no hesitation in declaring the $3 million Group 1 Caulfield Guineas the ultimate goal for Lethal Thoughts.
He remains a colt, if the dream becomes a reality with a win in a feature race Lethal Thoughts is a multi-million dollar proposition.
The Sire of this colt So You Think is the highest-rated Australian colt of the modern age – higher-rated than the likes of Pierro, Zoustar and All Too Hard. So You Think came to prominence through winning the 2009 and 2010 Cox Plates back to back. He had 10 Gr.1 wins in 2 hemispheres, defeating over 75 individual Gr.1 winners with career earnings over $8.9 million.
His career so far at stud has been just as good, with his top performers including Gr.1 winners Quick Thinker and Nakeeta Jane. This colt looks a stunning type and I am sure he will show us all what he is made of on the track.
Lethal Thoughts – 2022 Caulfield Guineas
Watch Lethal Thoughts in the 2022 Caulfield Guineas. This race left The Vic Hussler owners on the edge of their seats as Lethal Thoughts hit the lead in another stallion-making G1 race, the Caulfield Guineas, however, a throat problem had emerged and this prevented Lethal from finishing the race (like he did over precisely the same distance in the JJ Atkins). The throat has been operated on successfully, and this is a horse that we all can’t wait to see again in 2023.
